Baylor students and faculty began the school's 124th year with the annual Convocation exercises on Wednesday. 

The ceremony began with the parade of class flags. Class flag bearers were Charlie Pearman '24, Maggie Smith '23, Caleb Nunes '22, Gracie and Ellie Tomisek '21, Leah Hunter '20, Alex Robinson '19, and Julia Steck '18. Laura Willett represented the faculty, carrying the Convocation banner, followed by Headmaster Scott Wilson '75, carrying in the Baylor flag. 

Teddy Lepcio '18 gave the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Natalie Lusk '22. International students from 12 countries offered welcomes in their native languages. Matthew Davis '18 addressed the students on the importance of the Honor Code at Baylor. 

Veteran teacher Floyd Celapino offered an inspirational keynote address followed by the ceremonial and traditional donning of the senior blazers, led by Assistant Headmaster Shaw Wilson '84. The Baylor Concert Choir, conducted by Vic Oakes, led the school in the singing of the Alma Mater and Avery Smith '18 offered the benediction.

Cleveland State To Be Named Veterans Designated Campus

Cleveland State Community College will hold a celebration recognizing the school as a Veterans Designated Campus and as a Veterans Reconnect Grant recipient.   The event will take place at Cleveland State's Fountain Courtyard on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m.  In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the Student Center. Female CARTA Driver Has Unknown Liquid Thrown In Her Face; 4 Fellow Employees Also Taken To Hospital; 15 Fire Companies Respond

A female CARTA bus driver had an "unknown liquid" thrown in her face at the rear of the CARTA headquarters by Sholar Avenue on Tuesday morning, fire officials said. It is near Wilcox Boulevard and Holtzclaw Avenue.
