Jack’s Opens First Location In Fort Oglethorpe

Monday, September 25, 2017

Jack’s Family Restaurants, based in Birmingham, will open its first Fort Oglethorpe location on Lakeshore Dr. on Wednesday. The new restaurant will be celebrated with a grand opening event and will offer chances to win a variety of prizes, including free Jack’s breakfast for a week for the first 50 customers at 5 a.m.

Jack’s is known for its unique, at-home Southern environment as the only quick-service restaurant offering made-from-scratch biscuits, hand-breaded fried chicken and a classic ice cream counter for hand-dipped shakes. In addition to Jack’s signature burgers and chicken, customers will find full breakfast and dinner platters with sides like green beans or grits on the menu. The new restaurant will be only the sixth location in Georgia.

“We’ve truly enjoyed expanding our staff with the addition of our Fort Oglethorpe team because there’s so much about this city that is reminiscent of our favorite towns across our four-state footprint,” said Jack's CEO Todd Bartmess. “We’re confident everyone will find something to enjoy on our menu and we can’t wait to discover what the local favorite is.”

The grand opening celebration will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. and will feature a Battle of the Bands Competition with Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High and Ringgold High School.  Prizes will include Jack’s swag bags, free Jack’s for a year, and free Jack’s breakfast for a week.  There will also be $1 small vanilla shakes, with proceeds to be donated to participating schools.

Set Up A Council On Love, Not A Council On Hate - And Response

In Mayor Berke's April 19 version of the Berke Bulletin, he announced plans to establish a Council on Hate and indicated a focus on tolerance. I beg of him to reconsider that plan.
