Cultural Group To Perform At Southern Adventist University To Celebrate Latin American History Oct. 23

Southern Adventist University announces the musical group Tlen Huicani will performance in celebration of Latin American history on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. in Ackerman Auditorium.

Since the group formed in 1973, they have dedicated themselves to sharing the musical heritage of Veracruz, Mexico, which many of the members call home.   

Tlen Huicani is a Nahuatl word from the Aztec culture that means “the singers.” The group specifically showcases a traditional folk harp that is representative of Veracruz, performing multiple selections that embody the culture of Mexico.
