Guns Are Here To Stay

Tuesday, February 20, 2018

Let's get something straight - guns are here to stay.

Let us assume for the moment that a law was passed tomorrow making all guns illegal in the United States; the government would need to search every home, vehicle, business, dig-up every yard, tear every wall apart to find them, and I mean every home.  I wonder what else they would find in the process?

Now let's keep this dream moving forward and say by some miracle, or divine intervention, every gun was confiscated. Would there still be guns?  You bet.

The United States is not the only manufacturer of guns - China, Russia, Germany, France, Turkey, Italy all have factories that turn out millions every year. In fact, nearly every industrialized country have a domestic arms-industry to produce weapons to supply their own military forces. How long before the black market seized upon this opportunity to supply the desire to own a gun?

Prohibition made liquor illegal and the criminal element was formed to meet the demand.  Prohibition did not last, but the criminal element it spawned did survive.

The weapons that will flow across our borders will not be the semi-automatic type we have today, but fully automatic assault weapons. And why not include hand grenades while they are at it because, hey, sometimes you just don't feel like getting too close to the one you want to eliminate.

Anytime anything has been deemed bad for you and made illegal only made people want it even more.  Drugs are illegal, I wonder how many tons entered the country this week?

Go ahead, take them all away, it will not stop it.  This country has a mental health issue unlike any country on earth. We kill one another over a Facebook post, a parking spot.  People will find a way to get more guns, perhaps something even more lethal until we address the real problem - the space between our ears.

Innocent Until Proven Guilty - And Response

What should have been an orderly process of senators interviewing the nominee for Supreme Court was turned into a mockery of our system by the Democrats attempting procedural stallings and pandering to cameras while their anarchist allies screamed and waved signs. Americans were able to see how frightening and unhinged these people become when they can’t get their way. They were ... (click for more)

The Problems With Stuffing Away Sexual Abuse - And Response (2)

The Supreme Justice nomination and the presenting GOP argument for their support of his place on the Supreme Court is laudable but we have a mess that few choose not to understand or worse, dismiss. I speak about the allegations of victim sexual abuse years ago. The fact that the incident occurred years ago is dismissed by those that choose not to understand. For those that do understand ...
