Good Discussions About Education

I had the pleasure to represent Tennessee PTA at the National PTA Legislative Conference in Washington, DC. I want to thank Senator Bob Corker for allowing me to speak about education and school safety to his legislative assistant.

We had a good discussion about common sense school safety measures and about supporting family education. In particular, I asked for support about appropriating the already authorized funds for the ESSA-based Statewide Family Engagement Centers.

Famed Radio Broadcaster Tommy Jett Dies At 77 At His Flintstone Home

Legendary radio broadcaster Tommy Jett (Thomas Wayne Reynolds) died Wednesday in his sleep at his residence in Flintstone, Ga.   He was 77. The native of Smithville, Tn., first was heard on Chattanooga radio in 1961 when he joined WFLI. He was known for his gaudy rings and his "Hey Now" greeting.
