HOT ROD Power 2018 Rolls Into Chattanooga June 10

The 24th annual HOT ROD Power Tour rolls through the heartland of hot rod culture. Officials said it is more than just a traveling car show–it’s the largest hot rod road trip in the world. Classic cars and hot rods travel city to city, over 1,300 miles, enjoying the people and stops along the way. The seven-day, seven-city journey is expected to bring together more than 6,000 vehicles and 100,000-plus spectators, June 9-15. Those interested in joining the tour can register now at http://www.

HOT ROD Power Tour welcomes all makes and models of hot rods, street rods, custom trucks, muscle cars and performance machines of every vintage and nameplate. For many, HOT ROD Power Tour is the ultimate vacation with friends and family. Those who travel from start to finish are considered the “Long Haulers,” a title they proudly boast. The 2018 HOT ROD Power Tour anticipates more than 2,500 long-haul vehicles and over 4,000 “Long Haulers” on tour.
 
Day 2 of the tour comes to Chattanooga State Community College in Chattanooga on Sunday June 10.  There will be an event from noon-7 p.m. on the campus, 4501 Amnicola Hwy.
 
The 24th annual HOT ROD Power Tour will feature: 
Thousands of Hot Rods from all over the country and beyond on display;
Largest hot rod road trip in the world;
A colorful midway of mobile display rigs from more than 50 performance manufacturers and aftermarket specialists– view the latest innovations and get expert advice;
Motorsports celebrities; and
Entertainment, games and dozens of giveaways on the main stage.
 
"The HOT ROD Power Tour brings significant impact to the economies of each of its tour stops.  Hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, bars, gas stations, museums and local attractions, etc. will benefit as they play host to tour participants who are relaxed and enjoying the lifestyle of the ultimate hot rodding journey.  The HOT ROD Power Tour annually attracts participants from around the world who plan for months or even years to make the trip, and they come prepared to make each stop a memorable experience," officials said.
 
Spectator admission is free. Participants may register a vehicle for just one day, two days or the entire event. Vehicle registration is open to any year, make or model. Registration is open now at hotrod.com. Pricing is as follows:
 
Long Hauler Registration: $129 before June 1 / $160 after June 1
Includes vehicle entry to all venues, two credentials, one goody bag, long hauler finisher plaque (will receive if checked into all stops), long hauler finisher certificate.
Multi-day Registration: $129 before June 1 / $160 after June 1
Includes vehicle entry at all venues, two credentials, one goody bag
Single day Registration: $45 before June 1 / $50 after June 1
Includes vehicle entry at one venue, exclusive license plate, and dash plaque.
Participant registration is located offsite at Homebuilders Association of Greater Chattanooga, 3221 Harrison Pike, Chattanooga, TN 37406.  Following registration, participants should enter the venue at the main gate off of TN-58/Amincola Highway and follow signs for participant parking.
 
The HOT ROD Power Tour is also open to spectators. Spectator entry and parking are free.   Spectator parking is located off-site at Tennessee River Park, 4301 Amnicola Hwy.  Shuttles will be provided.

Female Inmate Dies At Bradley County Jail Monday

A female inmate was found unresponsive at the Bradley County Jail on Monday afternoon.
