Food Truck Fridays Coming To Miller Park

Thursday, September 20, 2018

With a newly opened park, there will also be a new slate of events and programs to be found in Downtown Chattanooga’s Miller Park, including Food Truck Fridays sponsored by Market City Center. Food Truck Fridays will happen every Friday, Sept. 28 through Nov. 16 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Miller Park, 928 Market St.

In addition to the Rolling J’s Mobile Bistro, Chatter Box Cafe, Clumpies Ice Cream Co. and Go Gyro Go food trucks that will be located on Market Street right beside Miller Park, each Friday will feature a different arts and cultural organization concluded by a local vendor fair to build community in the new public space.

“Miller Park is a wonderfully designed new public space in the heart of Downtown Chattanooga’s Innovation District,” states Meagan Shinn, program director at River City Company. “And people want activity, events and reasons to go to public places where a program like Food Truck Fridays comes into play. Not only can you get great local food from the food trucks or one of the many surrounding restaurants, but also you get to enjoy local performances and entertainment on your lunch break, free of charge.”

“Miller Park is a superb new amenity that everyone in our city can enjoy, especially residents of Market City Center,” states Linden Bridges, the residential leasing director at Market City Center. “Not only can you live in one of Downtown Chattanooga’s newest apartment developments at Market City Center, but you get to live in the center of it all, including community events like this in Miller Park, when you call Market City Center home.”

"River City Company is organizing Food Truck Fridays to build momentum and create a sense of place in Miller Park, provide an opportunity for downtown work teams to enjoy lunch outings together and cultivate community in City Center to spur economic development and create memorable opportunities for Chattanoogans in the newly renovated park," officials said.

The American Deli Gets 5 Stars For Its Wings

This past Wednesday I accompanied my wife, Gail, to the mall so she could get her walk in as I immersed myself in the newest Brad Thor novel. Being that it was near noon time we decided to grab a bite to eat first. Our normal food choice in the Hamilton Place Food Court is Charley’s Phillys for a Chicken California sandwich, which I highly recommend, as well.   However, ... (click for more)

Why Are Joda Thongnopnua And Phil Bredesen Downplaying Their Democratic Values?

For the past several months, the Democratic Party has reached a tipping point. “Their Resistance” is to oppose anything and everything Republicans are doing to deliver a stronger economy and better economic opportunities for all Americans.  Yet, I find it very interesting that the public outcry we are seeing from the Democrats on a national level is nowhere to be found when ... Roy Exum: The Coach Who Said ‘No’

I couldn’t tell you the first time I met John Gagliardi … 30 years ago? 40? … and I never saw him nearly enough. He was a Division III football coach at some monastery of a place in Minnesota and that’s a long way from the Southeastern Conference. Our orbits rarely overlapped but somewhere down the line we were at the same table for dinner. Once that happened, it seemed like the ... (click for more)
